From June 23-26, 2025, a study visit was held in Warsaw as part of the MIGRAEDU project. The purpose of the visit was to understand the situation of Ukrainian refugees with disabilities in Poland, compare it with the situation in Romania, and develop tools for analyzing the collected research material.

Study Visits and Seminars

During the visit, participants visited several key institutions and took part in research seminars.

  • Civitas University: Seminars were held at Civitas University to discuss the coding scheme for the collected data, e-learning materials based on research, and future activities of the MIGRAEDU project.
  • Frontex: A visit to the headquarters of the European Border and Coast Guard Agency provided an understanding of how the European Union implements its border control policies and manages the flow of immigrants and refugees at an official level.
  • Foundation for Migrants "Dobry Start" im. A.G. Farah: A visit to this non-governmental organization (NGO) offered insight into grassroots efforts for migrant integration, especially for those with disabilities. Participants learned about the challenges refugees face during the integration process, including the citizenship exam, and the key role that civil society organizations play in filling the gaps in official policies.

The visit to Warsaw provided valuable information on the multi-layered approach to migration management in Europe, combining the perspectives of official policies with local-level actions.
