Objectives of the Visit
The primary objective of the visit was to discuss the results of the focus group interviews (GI) conducted in Warsaw and Bucharest in November and December, as well as to formulate the main research concept. For new members of the research team, this was also an opportunity to meet in person.
Visits to Organizations Supporting Refugees
As part of the study visit, participants visited two organizations dedicated to supporting refugees, including those with disabilities:
- The Romanian National Council for Refugees (CNRR) Foundation – a non-governmental organization whose mission is to promote and protect human rights, with a special focus on the rights of migrants, refugees, and asylum seekers. CNRR provides social assistance and legal counseling services, engaging numerous volunteers in its activities. During the visit, participants learned about the specific support provided by the organization, including assistance for people with disabilities.
- International Organization for Migration (IOM) – an intergovernmental organization affiliated with the United Nations, operating in Romania since 1992. Discussions at IOM focused on refugee evacuation efforts in the early stages of the war and the transition from humanitarian aid to integration support for Ukrainian refugees, including those with disabilities.
Seminar at ICCV
The visit also included a full-day seminar at ICCV, during which the results of the focus group interviews conducted in Warsaw and Bucharest were presented. The discussions helped outline key research areas and refine the concept of further studies. The seminar also provided an opportunity to discuss the project's publication strategy.
Informal Meetings
In addition to the official seminar at ICCV, the visit included informal networking and working meetings, fostering experience exchange and strengthening team cohesion within the research group.
The research study visit in Bucharest was an event that not only deepened research analyses but also strengthened international academic relations.
