We warmly invite you to attend the international conference concluding the project “Understanding Migrant Realities: Research-Led Teaching on Migration in Diversifying Societies” (MIGRAEDU), implemented by Civitas University and the Research Institute for Quality of Life (ICCV) of the Romanian Academy and financed by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA).
The conference will provide a unique opportunity to explore the findings of recent research on the experiences of Ukrainian refugees with special needs, including persons with disabilities, living in Warsaw and Bucharest. Participants will gain insights into issues related to social integration, access to support services, coping strategies, identity transformation, and future aspirations in the context of displacement.
The event will also showcase how research findings can be effectively integrated into higher education. Presentations will highlight the educational materials developed within the project and the experiences gained through the implementation of the Research-Led Teaching approach, which connects cutting-edge research with innovative academic learning.
A dedicated session will address the ethical dimensions of migration and refugee research, covering topics such as conducting interviews with individuals who have experienced trauma, building trust-based research relationships, and managing sensitive data responsibly.
We welcome:
- Researchers and academics interested in migration, integration, and education;
- Students and doctoral candidates;
- Representatives of NGOs and public institutions working with refugees and migrants;
- Anyone interested in the practical application of research findings in education and public policy.
The conference will not only present the key outcomes of the MIGRAEDU project but will also create a space for dialogue, networking, and discussion on the future of migration research and research-based teaching in Europe.
